Episode 22 – That 90’s Show

April 24th, 2008 | Category: Episode Update

The ESCape is back… and with another live show. It started last week, it continues this week. The guys take a look at the Nintendo VS Sega war that took place from the late 80s to the early 90’s. We take a look at both sides, the inception of Sonic, the “Blast Processing” scandal, how Nintendo could have been Playstation, why TG16 never took off in the USA, and we’ll discuss the only system to have games that cost $200 a pop.

So far in our “poles” (ahem, Zed), we have a 3 way battle between Contra, Bubble Bobble and Tecmo Bowl. Which game will we have in our coveted Retro Review this week?

Episode 21 – That Retro Show

April 18th, 2008 | Category: Episode Update

The ESCape is back with an all new show… and were going back… way back to the days of the Atari, 8 bit Nintendo, Master System, well you get the idea…

- Looking to pick up an Atari to add to your collection? The ESCape offers their recommendations as a buyers guide.

- The Retro Review is back with a double header. Due to the technical problems of last week, we are reviewing last weeks Listeners Choice selection of Mike Tyson’s Punchout!! – this week we have a 3 way tie between Contra, Jackal, and Bubble Bobble. How will the guys decide the winner?

- The Ass of the Week returns and just when you think our choses “Asses” could not get any worse, well – this chosen Ass killed his wife in his half-assed attempt of installing a satellite dish. You have to hear this to believe this.

- Plus, Mike and Al square off on Steve’s Video Game Challenge, Mike goes off on a rant about parents and violent video games, and Harmack’s new commercial?

Episode 19 – That Warm, Tingling, Sensation

April 05th, 2008 | Category: Episode Update

Thats right, The ESCape is back with an all new episode. This week, Al and Mike fly as a duo, as Steve is out sick… or is he just avoiding any episode number with a 9 in it?

- This week we will be discussing the long-awaited PSP sequel Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, the latest to hit the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII series. Keeping on topic with Final Fantasy, we take a look at the original 2001 theatrical release Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within movie, and find out why this once potential box office smash turned to being an official box office dud.

- It’s April, and that means its Listener’s Choice Month on the Retro Review. Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker on the Genesis is first up, as it won our poll two weeks ago. Is this game “Bad” or should it just “Beat It”?

- We also discuss the recent WWE Smackdown VS RAW 2009 announcement, Paramount opening a game studio, the new Madden bundle, Scientists using the Wii remote for… robots?… and lastly, a security breach hits the Playstation Network. Was your information compromised? Also – more movies for Uwe Boll to ruin, Mike brings back his infamous Top 10 Lists, and… Bubble Bath Babes?
