July 29th, 2008 | Category: Reel Review Episode Update

Join Mike and Mike as they answer the following questions:

- What did they think of Will Smith’s latest July 4th release, Hancock.
- Did it live up to all the hype the national media and critics gave to it?

- Is the new Hulk really that “big”?
- Will there be a sequel?

The guys discuss the DVD movies Juno and 10,000 BC. Are either of these worth your hard earned $4?

Als Blog – Big Updates Coming, Brand New Show This Week, New Happenings on GPN Radio.

July 29th, 2008 | Category: Als Blog,Site Update

Hey guys… well this is my first attempt at my own blog here on the site, and I hope to do one about once or twice a week with updates on the show and on GPN. I’ll be pretty busy this week as I’ll be updating the site quite frequently, so make sure you check back here on theescapeshow.com every day this week as each day there will be a pretty big update to the site.

This week we will be catching up on all of our podcasts that need to be archived, as well as some new content. After doing some statistical research, I found that most of our listeners are actually behind a few episodes, and I figured I’d give people an extra week to catch up. Although with the updates for this week I’ll probably be throwing some people in the back log again!

TheESCapeShow.com will also be (for now) the primary host of the Reel Review Show with Mike and Mike as well, so I will be adding their podcasts into the fold too. If you have not heard their show yet, and you enjoy movies, you will really enjoy this show.

Also continue to support our radio station as well, GPN Radio. This past week we launched a brand new show called “Club GPN”, hosted by DJ Harmack, this past Saturday night. It appeared to do rather well so tune in this Saturday night at 10:00 PM EST for more of the best in techno and dance music. GPN Radio is also now on myspace, (another work in progress), so friend us there and continue to tell your friends, guilds, neighbors, family, etc.

Thanks for your time, and see you this Wednesday on The ESCape, live at 8:00 PM EST, only on GPN Radio!

Episode 32 – Patriotic Power Outage

July 07th, 2008 | Category: Episode Update

Al and Steve attempted to do a live show… until a huge storm hit, and knocked out the server that our station was on. We wrapped up this show in a special “two night edition” so here is what to expect:

- Al and Steve start the show, with the usual “opening banter” (as Steve puts it), Steve tests our our new food that we have in catering for our special guests, and then… a big storm hits, and the GPN Radio server goes out.

- An hour and a half later, (when the server came back on) we continued the show with the return of a widely popular segment “Dear ESCape.” This week one of our listeners, Suszy Q, writes in with a cry for help with attracting another ESCape listener, from “down under”. We pulled no stops on this one, and we even brought in a special guest by the name of “The Ladies Man” for consultation.

- This week in our Retro Review, its Al’s Choice week, and he’s picked the SNES classic “Secret of Mana”. Even though Al thought he new the most about this classic, Jak’s brother Jaxxon stole the show by reviewing this game this week.

- Al, Harmack, and UG take a look at the Top 14 Retro Revivals in this week’s ESCape Pod. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at the #1 on this list, and yes, Street Fighter is included in this list.

- This weeks AOTW is selling her house on Ebay, with one stipulation – S&H includes her hand in marriage.

All this and more, including a guest appearance by a drunk Zed, singing about a penis. Download now, and Happy 4th of July to all our American listeners.

PS – Sorry about the echoing in part of the podcast. Due to the problems with the weather affecting stream, it was uncontrollable.

Thursday Night ESCape Tonight @ 8:00 PM

July 03rd, 2008 | Category: Site Update

In light of the events that happened last night due to severe weather in our area, we are going to finish last nights edition of The ESCape tonight. Because of internet connection problems, we went down around 9:20 PM EST, and were not able to come back on live until about 10:25 PM EST. Tonight starting at 8:00 PM we will re-air the segments we were able to get through last night, and then continue on with the show. Everything will be included in the podcast when it is finalized, and thanks to everyone who stayed on and waited for us to come back during the downtime.
