Episode 51 – Little Big New Year

January 15th, 2009 | Category: Episode Update

The ESCape is finally back after their 2 week holiday hiatus. Tonight the guys talk about their New Years Resolutions, review this years national top new years resolutions, and review Little Big Planet on the Playstation 3. Mike chose this week’s Retro Review of Monster Boy in Wonderland, which is an old gem from the Sega Master System days. We are truly starting to believe that Mike is a Master System Fan Boy… And what some are calling the best part of the show, Al and Mike have two unplanned debates about the 16 bit era of gaming, and Wii Sports becoming the #1 best selling game of all time.

Episode 52 Preview: Interview With Will Brierly of Snowrunner Productions, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix and more

January 13th, 2009 | Category: Episode Preview

Tomorrow will be a huge show for us, as we will have an interview with Will Brierly, arcade developer and designer of Snowrunner Productions upcoming project “Get Outta My Face”. If you have any questions you’d like us to ask Will, please email us or post a comment on our website. You can also ask any questions from our chat room tomorrow during the show. Here’s a brief description of the project:

Get Outta My Face is a new arcade game designed by Will Brierly. Featuring 50 levels of exciting gameplay, a beautiful musical score, challenging AI, and a compelling/silly storyline, this game not like anything you have ever played in the arcades.

The game is simple, you are a blue cube (named Blue) who is trying to find out why it is what it is and how it came into being. Throughout this process, malicious cubes try to end your life. The reason for this must also be answered, but in the meantime you must survive! You do this by running through levels, slamming through walls, hiding from enemies, and using your surroundings as shields. The game is easy to learn but extremely difficult to master.

In a world where games are built by giant teams, Get Outta My Face truly has a fresh feeling. For the most part, the game was created by just one person who sat in his house for months building the game from scratch, writing the music, programming the AI, creating the artwork, and more. This makes for a strange, fun, addictive, interesting, and innovative game.

Compete for high score, play to the end, or just try to survive, whatever you do you won’t forget this experience.

All this, plus Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix in our game review. Tune in tomorrow night at 8:00 PM right here on our website, and www.mygnetradio.com!
