Episode 84 Preview

September 01st, 2009 | Category: Episode Preview

Join Al, Mike and Willie this Wednesday night as they discuss dating in the digital age. What makes internet sites like eHarmony and Match.com so popular? How safe are these sites? What the heck is Speed Dating all about? Have any of the guys tried these methods? Well, the guys do have some interesting stories, but we want our listeners to call in and give their tales.

This weeks Retro Review will feature the beginning of Sega Month as they review the Sega Genesis game Sonic & Knuckles. Dr. Robotnik’s Death Egg has been badly damanged in his battle with our little blue friend, so while he makes repairs he attempts to dispatch both Sonic and Knuckles so he can find the Master Emerald and become ever powerful. Join us in our review of the battle of Critters vs Man!

Al’s Serious Statistics returns this week. What interesting stats did Professor Al come up with? Will they be useful to the listeners or will it just become “useless knowledge”.

Willie also returns this week with a brand new Top 10 list. Will he give you the top reasons that women use internet dating sites? How about men? Ok…we know about Willie and his “mens”…who knows what he will come up with.

All this and a whole lot more….Are they really going to give a prize away during “Know the show?” Will Steve make it four weeks in a row (what is this world coming to)? What will Willie bring for his youtube video of the week? Will Mike go off on a rant? Can they go one show without making fun of Al…ok lets not go that far…

Tune in and find out beginning at 9pm EST right here on Gamer Network Radio!!!

Episode 83 Preview

August 24th, 2009 | Category: Episode Preview

Join Al, Mike and Willie this Wednesday night as they discuss every kids nightmare….going back to school! The guys will talk about their past experiences of the first day of school. They will also talk to some parents about their experiences on getting their kids back to gettin’ their learn on!
The will also reveal some back to school horror stories…some examples are a teacher throwing poop at a student? Students crossing a raging river with a zip line….to get back to class? Seriously??

This weeks Retro Review will feature the final odd game of the month as they review the NES Genesis game Cool Spot. Yes, the 1990’s mascot for 7-Up had his own video game. Join the fun as our brave little spot battles enemies by shooting soda bubbles at them in all directions. Was this game an alternative to Super Mario Brothers or Sonic the Hedgehog? Doubtful…but the name of the game is Cool Spot…so it has to be good…right?

The “Dear ESCape” segment returns this week as the guys try to answer the listeners emails and even take some calls. Remember caller D-Nizzie’s problem with her sister-in-law? The guys handled that pretty well, so move over Dr. Phil…Al, Mike and Willie got it from here.

Have something you have always wanted to ask a black person? Well the popular “Ask the Black Dude” returns this week. Willie will answer our listeners questions they have always wanted to ask a black person, just never had the balls to ask. What will they come up with?

All this and a whole lot more….Are they really going to give a prize away during “Know the show?” Will Steve make it three weeks in a row (let’s not push it)? What will Willie bring for his youtube video of the week? Will Mike go off on a rant? Will Al profess his love for Facebook Poetry?

Tune in and find out beginning at 9pm EST right here on Gamer Network Radio!!!

We thought we’d announce this Wednesday’s (Episode 80) Retro Review, but since Sega seems to like the idea, we figured why not let them do it instead. Thanks Sega!

Featured Musical Guest Of Episode 71: Scour

June 02nd, 2009 | Category: Episode Preview

We are pleased to feature the music of up and coming band Scour on Episode 71.

Scour is best described as explosive, live, catchy, melodic and talented. Scour delivers great songwriting wrapped in a power pop rock package with big guitars, hard-hitting drums, and boundless energy.

Scour was formed when singer & songwriter Chris Jones met guitarist Jason Manoff in Hollywood in the summer of 2008. The two hit it off and discovered they shared the desire and influences to form a rock band. Jones and Manoff wrote two songs the first day they ever spent together that summer, and they had a dozen songs finished at the end of that first week. After realizing their near-instantaneous bond, Jones and Manoff officially decided to start the band and recruited Joel Smith, rhythm guitar, Louis Ortega, bassist, and Drew Mattern, the drummer.

Scour’s musical influences, eclectic personalities and incredible passion for the songs they write and play, define the band’s soul. Scour songs are essentially about life, love and loss. They truly have an all or nothing approach to creating music. After only six weeks of being together, the band began playing small clubs in the Los Angeles area, and moved onto playing various venues on the Sunset Strip.

January 2009 marks an important time in the band’s history. Scour recorded their first professional three-song demo, working with music veteran and producer Rich Mouser (Oleander, Rivers Cuomo) and mastered the project at Capitol Records by Robert Vosgien (Green Day, No Doubt, Bush).

Scour’s persistent determination to write, record and perform has caught the attention of the underground music scene and fans across the country. The band is eagerly awaiting a tour and is working to complete a new EP set to release early July 2009.

We will be featuring the songs Bright Idea, Hideaway, and Let Love Live during the show!

Episode 68 Preview – WTF Wednesday 5

May 13th, 2009 | Category: Episode Preview

Thats right folks, get ready… Because WTF Wednesday is being brought back once again.
Due to a hard drive failure in ESCape Studios, we’ve pretty much been slowly (but so far surely) restoring our old content to another drive due to the crash. Because of this random crash, we may not have as much prep time as we normally do for the show this week. And that’s the beauty of WTF Wednesday.
For those not familiar, WTF Wednesday is a tradition where it’s title pretty much says what it is – anything goes. We may choose to play some music, air our greatest moments, or even create brand new random moments of our own. It’s also very important to be in our chat room, because we will discuss what our live listeners request for us to discuss, and the live listeners will also pick our Retro Review.
There is one piece of business at hand that we must address, and this is the new third co – host of The ESCape Show. Who will it be?
It will be an interesting show to say the least, and you must be there live on May 13th, 2009 at 9:00 PM on G-NET Radio (www.mygnetradio.com) and here on theescapeshow.com!
